Almost Monochrome Bag and Cushion Pattern
This pattern will guide you through making both the really useful bag and the comfortable cushion. They are both made of cotton canvas, which gives them both strength and great wear.
Once created these items can be used time and time again, helping to reduce waste and help the environment one bag at a time.
Requirements (all fabric is craft cotton or cotton canvas 115cm/43” wide):
Bucket Bag:
Fabric 1 — 15cm (small dots)
Fabric 2 — 30cm (zig zag)
Fabric 3 — 30cm (large dots)
Fabric 4 — 50cm (lining fabric or calico)
22mm Self-cover button—1
Vilene Style-vil foam for a structured bag but if desired any softer waddings will also provide good results—100cm
Trim—80cm
Optional:
Magnetic Fastener—1
Bag feet—4
Cushion:
Fabric 1 — 15cm (stripe)
Fabric 2 — 15cm (small dot)
Fabric 3 — 15cm (large dot)
Fabric 4 — 15cm (zigzag)
Fabric 5 — 50cm (medium dot)
Fabric 6 — 50cm square—muslin or calico
Wadding—50cm square
Cushion pad—35cm square
Trim—110cm
Plus for any project:
Thread to match—Polyester or
cotton suitable for sewing machine
Wadding:
Any good quality wadding or batting will work—we recommend Vilene 80/20 as a good option
Finished Sizes: The cushion is 17in square (43cm) and the bag is 12in x 14in (30 x 35cm).
