Creative Sewing with Your Sewing Machine with Kathleen Laurel Sage
Watch Kathy's introduction to the class. Flick through the photos to see some of the fabulous things you could be making.
In this exciting monthly class, you will be shown and encouraged to use your sewing machine to push the boundaries and make full use of everything that your machine has to offer. You will learn how to make full use of any programmed stitches and to confidently free motion stitch and draw with your needle.
Each month you will produce small projects using these new skills along with a variety of creative products such as water-soluble film, voiles, paints and yarns with layers of stitched fabrics, lace, cords and wires to create a body of work to showcase all your new skills.
A sewing machine is always necessary for this course. We recommend that the sewing machine should be capable of either dropping the feed dogs or use of a plate to cover the feed dogs as this is necessary for many of the Creative Sewing days. There are a limited number of suitable machines for hire from Tudor Rose Patchwork and must be booked in advance of the day.
Two groups will run over 12 months, one on a Tuesday and the other a Wednesday. These will be run as separate groups and as such, days will not be interchangeable. Classes are £34 paid in advance. However, you can book a block of 10 for £250. Please call the shop on 01234 824983 if you cannot attend the first date and we can transfer bookings - see our Cancellation Policy.
