If students wish to continue with projects they have already started in one of my workshops I am always happy for them to come along and work on these however it is helpful if I know what they are working on so that I can bring the correct samples, equipment etc

Zippy Pouches
Stitch a selection of useful pouches where the zips open on the diagonal, creating a distinctive feature. These are great little pouches for giving as gifts, for using up small amounts of fabric and are great for a multitude of purposes including the storage of kindles and e-readers, stationery, books etc.
You will begin the day by stitching a medium sized pouch so that everyone can work through the technique together. After the first pouch has been made, alternative measurements will be given for smaller and larger options. You will have time to make two or more pouches during the day.

Strips that Sizzle
Take a pile of fabrics in one colour and cut lots of strips. Add some plain fabric and some clever stitch and flip. The resulting design makes great secondary patterns when stitched together.
Janet has used two colours in her sample, red and white. However, she has tried with multiple coloured scraps and it works just as well. The good thing about it is that it is a good way of using up fabric that perhaps you don't like so much as you only see small strips of it. This quilt can be as big or small as you wish so if you want something larger, you simply need tro adjust the fabric quantities accordingly.
July & August
Modern Scrappy Double Wedding Ring Quilt
This quilt is a modern interpretation of the traditional double wedding ring quilt. It is machine pieced and can be made as small or as large as you wish.
Janet has used fabric scraps but it would work well in a colour themed collection of prints.
September
Fabric Collage
Create a fabric collage picture that looks as if it is a painting. Small pieces of randomly cut fabric are bonded to a background panel and then machine quilted.
Bring your own source of inspiration. A picture, photo, birthday card, postcard etc. Janet found it is easier to work with floral landscapes or vases of flowers.
You will create a small wall hanging sized piece - maximum approximately 18" in size.
Students need to be able to use a rotary cutter and stitch an accurate 1/4" seam
.
